Was not what we were expecting. I didn’t even read about it.
They say that I worry too much.
Still, I never expected to go to Holland. Not that I didn’t love it. Of course, I loved it. But I didn’t plan it. Nobody does.
See, when you get to Holland, nothing goes as planned. You take detours, lots of them. Your friends can’t help you; They’ve never been there.
They’ve never been out of the country.
At times you wish you had never boarded the plane.
You do make friends in Holland. They didn’t expect to get there either. Some of them have maps. They try to guide you along, but everyone’s journey is different. There is only so much they can do. You are welcomed into the group.
A group of weary travelers who never expected Holland but now that you are there…
You find that it’s beautiful.
You see things differently here. In Holland.
It has opened your eyes to a way of thinking that most people never experience. There is more love in Holland than you thought. The kind of love that opens your heart and your mind.
You see things differently in Holland.
Things you once took for granted you now see as gifts.
You learn about life in Holland.
You didn’t realize there was so much to learn. That there was a world you didn’t know or want to know, until you saw it with your own two eyes.
You cannot appreciate Holland until you have been there. You won’t truly understand until you’ve taken the journey.
Nobody asks to go to Holland.
But I can tell you; I’m thankful for the trip.
