The 411 On AAA Memberships (25 Ways AAA Can Help You Help Yourself)

If you’re looking for a membership that will give you peace of mind on the road and help you save a ton of money on everyday items, you need to stop everything and check out AAA right now! Seriously!

A AAA membership is a membership for life. Use it every day to get discounts and deals at places to shop around town from restaurant deals.

As a forty-five-year-old – cough cough – woman – it may not be acceptable for me to throw a duck fit when I feel completely lost or helpless, but I do. Because, like most folks, I enjoy the feeling of empowerment – I love to feel like I am in control and I don’t have to depend on anyone for help, but the truth is – life happens – and when it does, I have a secret weapon – a partner in crime if you will – that I can depend on.

What AAA Is All About: Because You’ve Gotta Stand For Something

And no, it’s A man or A woman – it’s better than both – it’s triple freaking A. Or AAA.

AAA has been serving its members and community for over 120 years – that’s more than a century for those of you into counting.

Now, before I get into what AAA can do for you, let’s look at what AAA believes in and does for everyone – because if you’re like me, you want to know what a company stands for before investing your hard-earned money with them.

How AAA Is Making A Difference

AAA & All Of Those Distracted Drivers

Have you ever been on the road and casually (yet safely) glanced over at the driver of the car next to you only to see that he is fully engaged in playing a video game on his phone? Or maybe you know a certain someone who is the queen of multi-tasking and puts on her makeup – AND FAUX EYELASHES while driving? Yeah, well, that’s not really in alignment with the rules of tha road – like keeping our hands on the wheel at 10 and 2 – and it’s dangerous.

AAA sees these distracted drivers too, so they provide public education, work with law enforcement, and legislators to help reduce these dangerous behaviors. Their research has shown traffic crashes are on the rise partly because drivers are taking more risks behind the wheel. Recent research has focused on distracted driving, teen driver crashes, vehicle technology, and steps that senior drivers can take to drive safely longer.

AAA Good Roads

“Good Roads” is one of AAA’s founding principles more than 100 years ago. They carry that legacy of love into the future by maintaining their commitment to the community AAA does this by advocating for effective transportation systems that safely meet the needs of vehicle drivers and passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, and transit riders. Taxes and fees paid by motorists should be fair, reasonable, benefit drivers, and support building and maintaining transportation infrastructure.

Why Join AAA? (Hint: It’s More Than Roadside Assistance)

  1. Need A Tow? Get A Tow

AAA will tow your vehicle to a repair shop, the nearest gas station, the mall, your ex-boyfriend’s house, or wherever you want them to. It’s your life, and you get to decide!. Liberating, right?

  1. Help For Those Times When You Locked Your Keys In The (BLEEP) Car

If you get locked out of your car, no problem. You don’t have to bust out a window a la Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing – (which was an epic movie, by the way) – just call AAA, and a technician will assist you, OR they’ll help pay for locksmith services.

  1. Battery

AAA can test your car’s battery for free and jump-start or replace it on the spot if needed. This is something the 16-year-old me needed desperately. My first car was such a hooptie (also known as a piece of garbage) It broke down more than Meredith Baxter Birney in a Lifetime movie. No joke, it got so bad I literally started strategically parking my car so that I could easily hook up jumper cables. On the bright side, it helped me learn not to fear approaching strangers and asking for help, but looking back, that was a bit dangerous, so I recommend having a solid backup plan. AAA is a good one.

  1. Emergency Fuel Service

If you run out of gas, AAA will bring you enough to reach the nearest gas station. So you can avoid having to do the walk of shame down the interstate with or without a gas can and or avoid calling that special someone who will no doubt shame you for being totally irresponsible for not planning ahead.

But seriously, ladies, try not ever to let your tank get below ¼ because you never know when you may get stuck in traffic and end up in a total lack of fuel panic attack.

  1. Flat Tire

If your vehicle has a spare tire ready to go, and most cars do – right there in the trunk – they’ll help you replace a flat. If you find yourself sans spare, they’ll give you a tow.

  1. (Minor) First Aid For Your Car

If your vehicle breaks down, a AAA technician will help you with minor repairs so you can get back on the road and avoid an emotional breakdown. (We’ve all been there.)

Create your membership here and start enjoying the perks of a AAA membership and have your own back – and peace of mind.

Yeah, But Is AAA worth it?

Because you can get roadside assistance from many companies, consider AAA’s full offerings before deciding on membership. The benefits, discounts and costs associated with each tier vary by location, so spend some time checking the benefits YOU will receive.

You may find that another service meets your needs well enough, or you might find that the discounts alone make AAA worth it for you and your family.
