Drugstore Makeup Dupe 1 – Primer
Confession: I didn’t start using primer until I was forty years old.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me – If you’re not using a primer before applying your makeup, then you need to put your life on pause & reevaluate your priorities.
Just kidding- but if you have oily skin (like me), primer is a MUST-HAVE.
A good primer is weightless-not greasy-and it smooths out wrinkles & reduces the appearance of fine lines. And, it keeps your makeup in place as in all day.
Products like these from Smashbox and ELF will make your skin look flawless! Thankfully you don’t have to spend a ton of money on it!
Drugstore Makeup Dupe 2 – Foundation
Hourglass Cosmetics Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation Vs. DUPE Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation
The Immaculate Liquid Powder foundation from Hourglass is what we’d call a triple threat foundation: it absorbs oil, covers imperfections, and delivers a matte finish that lasts all day.
Still, it’s hard for us to justify shelling out so many Hamilton’s every month on one product. So, we found a DUPE! Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation.
How does Rimmel compare? The two are almost identical! Plus, Rimmel Stay Matte contains long-lasting shine control & costs about $50 Less Than Hourglass!
Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty is one of the hottest brands in the makeup market.
(It was launched in September 2017 & was such a hit that it was named one of Time’s Best Inventions later that year.)
The Fenty Foundation gives a beautiful natural matte finish that lasts all day & offers tons of color choices for different skin tones.
Fenty tends to sell out-fast, and while it’s not a super expensive product, we wouldn’t call it a deal, either.
The DEAL/DUPE: Maybelline Matte + Poreless Foundation in 310 Just like Fenty, the Maybelline Matte will give you a shine-free matte finish even on the hottest of summer days.
Bonus: It costs about $30 Less!
Giorgio’s Luminous Silk Foundation is a cult classic, that is pretty pricey. For a more affordable radiant complexion-with a beautiful finish similar to Armani-go with the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup.
Bonus: It has SPF!
Drugstore Makeup Dupe – Concealer
Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer is the best thing that’s ever happened to women.
Ok, so maybe that’s too much, but y’all, it’s a miracle worker if you’ve got dark circles under your eyes or you need a little contour magic.
It’s easy to use – never greasy and easy to blend.
So the question is, can it be duped?
Yep. Wet N Wild Focus Concealer is the DUPE you are looking for!!!
I want you to see this video & prepare to be AMAZED!
Drugstore Makeup Dupe – Blush
Luxury Brand: NARS Blush in Orgasm Vs. Dupe: The Balm Hot Mama
It’s a little on the peachier side, and the shimmer is more subtle, but it’s a close match!
Too Faced Love Flush Blush in I Will Always Love You Vs. Dupe: Wet n Wild Blush in Apricot In The Middle
Too Faced’s famous peach Love Flush Blush is highly pigmented, so the color lasts all day, but it’s expensive.
Dupe: Go with Wet n Wild Apri-Cot In The Middle. It has the same Too Faced peachy color (with gold and pink undertones) and saves you $30 since it costs around $15!
Drugstore Makeup Dupes – Highlighter
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Opal Vs. Dupe: TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer in Champagne
While we all know Becca to be a fantastic product that affords us an excellent highlight, The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer is taking the makeup world by storm with this full-blown legit dupe for a fraction of the cost!
And can I say that their packaging is everything?
Drugstore Makeup Dupes – Bronzer
Full disclosure: we love & use both of these bronzers!
Drugstore Makeup Dupes – MAC
Drugstore Makeup Dupes – Brows
Ok. I’m just going to shoot straight here.
We might as well be in Sames-ville.
We love Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes, and were shocked when we found this dupe for their best selling Brow Wiz. Because, well, it’s THAT good!
The Maybelline Micro Brow Pencil in Soft Brown wins this round.
Psst. Savannah says this pencil is fabulous & literally just as good as the ABH Brow Wiz. High praise for the Maybelline in case you didn’t know.:)
Drugstore Dupes – Mascara
Is it Better Than Sex? Hum. I have to say that it’s hard to top my all-time favorite mascara.
If you’re thinking of splurging on any product today-go for the lashes-&, get Better Than Sex.
Now, as for the dupe. The L’Oreal Lash Paradise is pretty darn close.
They look almost identical inside & out- the brushes look the same. To my surprise, when I tried Lash Paradise, I wasn’t that disappointed!
No crazy smudges!
This may be one of the best drugstore dupes for mascara I’ve found.:)
But for the record, I’m sticking to the BTS.
Drugstore Makeup Dupes – Eyeshadow Palettes
Eyeshadow Palette Dupes
Drugstore Makeup Dupes – Lipstick
Kat Von D’s Lipstick is quick to dry & it lasts all day. No, really-it lasts ALL DAY.
It’s the kind of lip color that lasts through Christmas dinner.
But it’s pricey!
The good news? NYX Professional Makeup Lip Lingerie (At half the cost) has staying power too. Plus, a matte finish that doesn’t leave your lips feeling chalky and in need of a serum.
MAC lipsticks are known for their vibrant long lasting colors that last (almost) all day.
MAC products are my favorite, but they are also on the expensive side. With two daughters (who share my makeup with or without permission), having back-ups available is always a good idea.
And I can afford to buy plenty of backups for that $$!
Did I Miss Anything?
