A few years ago, I became super interested in the power of positive thinking. I started reading a minimum of two self-help books a week, including Jen Sincero’s book, You Are A Badass. It totally changed my life. One of the things she repeated over and over was that you create your reality. I have to admit that this sounded like heaven to my inner child, but as a skeptical forty-something mom of three who was desperately trying to remodel her life from brain to my booty – I needed evidence. When I learned about Dr. Masaru Emoto’s incredible work and how his work gave scientific proof that Jen Sincero was right and that we are ALL badasses well, I was thrilled. Today I want to share what I refer to as scientific evidence that points to hope for everyone with you.
Before I get started. I want to show you a clip from the movie What the Bleep Do We Know, which is where I first learned about Dr. Emoto and his work.
Dr. Masaru Emoto’s first book, The Hidden Message in Water, explained his discovery that crystals formed in frozen water revealed changes when specific, concentrated thoughts were directed toward them.
He found that water from clear springs and water exposed to loving words showed brilliant, intricate, and colorful snowflake patterns. In contrast, polluted water, or water exposed to negative thoughts formed incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors.
Dr. Emoto’s research shows that water exposed to loving, benevolent, and compassionate intention results in aesthetically pleasing physical molecular formations in the water. In contrast, water exposed to fearful and divergent human intentions results in disconnected, disfigured, and “unpleasant” physical molecular formations.
Dr. Emoto developed a process in which he would freeze drops of water after being exposed to the different variables and take photographs of individual water crystals that formed. He found that his theory was correct: like snowflakes, every water crystal is unique.
Dr. Emoto found that you could tell much about the nature of the water by photographing it in this way, and more importantly, as human beings, we can change the nature of water in many ways.
One of the first things that Dr. Emoto learned was that all water does not form beautiful crystals. He tested tap water from around the world and found that tap water does not create water crystals, nor does stagnant or polluted water. Instead, it forms unpleasant, deformed frozen structures. Rainwater, water from clean streams and rivers, water from glaciers, and water from holy places worldwide form beautiful crystals when frozen.
He wondered if we, as human beings, can change the nature of water, so he tried many techniques to test this. Dr. Emoto found that if he played beautiful music in the presence of tap water, it would then make beautiful frozen crystal formations.
The Power Of Positive Thinking – Words Change Water
Dr. Emoto’s work also shows us that the written word changes water. Dr. Emoto taped paper strips on bottles of tap water and then photographed the frozen Water. He found that words like “Thank you” and “I love you” caused the tap water to form beautiful crystals (see pictures).
Words like “You make me sick” or “You are a fool” caused ugly, distorted crystals or no crystals at all.
Dr. Emoto then found that we can cause tap water to form beautiful frozen water crystals by praying for the water, sending it loving thoughts, and blessing it.
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, take a look at the pictures below.
Water charged with words, “You make me sick. I will kill you.” vs Water charged with words, “Thank you.”
Water from Fujiwara Dam before being blessed vs. Water from Fujiwara Dam after being blessed
Pretty cool, right? What you are seeing in these photos is evidence that we have the power to change the energies within and around us with every thought, action, and emotion.
With negative thoughts and emotions, we put what some may call “bad energy” into ourselves and our living environments. Positive, joy-filled thoughts and feelings put positive energy into ourselves and our environment.
In other words, you are what you think about and focus upon.
The Power Of Positive Thinking – Music & Water
Dr. Emoto was clearly a go-the-extra-mile kind of guy. He also studied how sound affects water.
The Emoto music studies demonstrate how certain types of sound, like classical music, generate beautiful crystalline patterns, while heavy metal music generates ugly and distorted crystalline formations. In the photos below, you see the crystalline formation resulting from Water being exposed to Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 and then, in contrast, what the water crystal image looks like after listening to heavy metal music.
Dr. Masaru Emoto put water as a living consciousness on the map for the scientific world. He showed us how water is energy and how it is capable of more than we ever imagined.
The power of human thoughts, sounds, and intentions have to strengthen and disempower is one of the most significant discoveries of our time.
If water is affected by words, intentions, and energies, and human beings are mostly made of water (last time I checked, we were 70 % water).
If we can transform water, we can transform ourselves.
Most of us are unconsciously surrounding and filling ourselves with what we don’t want in our lives: what we fear and what makes us angry. Then we unwittingly attract what we don’t want into our lives. Once you understand this, you can take charge of the process.
You can learn to use prayerful intent to put beneficial energies into your body, into substances, such as food and water, into objects, such as jewelry, and your living environment.
You can bless things with unique energy vibrations as defined by your intent. You can also change detrimental energies into beneficial energies, all with the power of prayer and blessing.
You can learn to surround yourself with what you desire to bring into your life rather than what you fear, and therefore create your reality. I hope this information inspires you to focus on your personal power, the power you have to focus on the positive aspects of life rather than the negative. Use your energy to think about what you do want instead of what you don’t want. Speak positive kind thoughts and intentions over yourself, your family and friends. Take time to love yourself and your surroundings. If you want to change something or many things, take action – without complaining and without underestimating yourself or the power of positive thinking.
Finally, just in case you’re thinking this sounds too good to be true – or this woman must be high on glue – I understand where you are coming from, but I am living proof that positive thinking and prayer works. I changed everything about my life after age 35. I went from being a miserable, depressed, 140 pounds over-weight stay at home mom of three with no job, no hobbies outside of motherhood (which is not a hobby) to having my own business (this website), becoming a health coach, losing all of the weight, and writing a book about it – by myself. Nobody gave me permission, and a lot of people laughed at me and my ideas. But you know what? I believed in myself and I did it. You can too.
You can read more about the extraordinary life work of Dr. Emoto in the New York Times Bestseller, The Hidden Messages in Water.
