Make the best homemade keto whipped cream in less than 10 minutes with 2 ingredients. This low carb whipped cream recipe makes a fabulous topping for desserts and drinks, but it is equally amazing as a stand-alone sugar-free dessert with next to no carbs.
Whipped cream is a must-have for dessert, even when you’re following a low carb diet. It’s easy to put together and customize, requires no baking, tastes fabulous, and did I mention you can make it in less than 10 minutes?
Whipped Cream & Carbs
Here’s the deal. Most of your store-bought faves have too many carbs to be counted as keto-friendly.
Looking at you Cool Whip and your 2 grams of carbs per 2 tablespoons serving. Traditional homemade whipped cream isn’t any better – but when you swap the sugar for a low carb sweetener – in this recipe, I use confectioners Erythritol – and heavy cream – you’re back in low carb land.
Recipe Variations
Did you know there are over 100,000 ways to make whipped topping less boring?
Ok, so I made that up. Isn’t the internet grand? I could proclaim myself to be the Queen of Keto Whipped Cream here, and lots of folks wouldn’t give it a second thought. But seriously, you can make it fun by adding spices and even alcohol.
Why not take advantage of this easy to whip up dessert? Get creative customizing this whipped cream – even if it’s a dessert for one style situation.
To be clear: I’m suggesting you add the following ingredients directly into the whipped cream – not just sprinkle on top (which would work for cinnamon and chocolate, but not so much with bourbon:)
BTW: I’m low key obsessed with the bourbon-infused variation. It pairs nicely with lattes, hot chocolate or all by itself. And you know how easy it was to do? All I did was add a tablespoon of my husband’s Bulleit Bourbon. Then one more just to see what happened. It. Is. Heavenly.

Tips For Making Homemade Whipped Cream
Use cold heavy cream. The colder the cream, the better the whip. #wordstoliveby
Chill the bowl and the beaters in the freezer for a few minutes to help whipped cream thicken faster (Metal gets colder faster, but glass works too) *This is not mandatory. I have skipped this step many times, and my result was still fab.
Use an electric or stand mixer unless you want to work overtime. You can make this happen whisking by hand, but it will take longer than 10 minutes, and your arm will be sore the next day. And the day after.
How To Make Stabilized Whipped Cream
A stabilized whipped cream stays in place, holds it’s shape, and is pipe-able. Whether or not you want to make this whipped cream stable is up to you – it does require an extra ingredient and an extra step.
But it couldn’t be easier, and if you need a whipped cream with extra staying power for holiday desserts it is worth the four additional minutes:)
Grab a microwave-safe bowl and add 1.5 teaspoons of water. Then sprinkle ½ teaspoon gelatin into it. Let it hang out for a few minutes and then microwave it for 5-10 seconds until the gelatin has dissolved. Then just let it cool while you mix the heavy cream and erythritol.
Fabulous Ways To Use This Recipe
Other than eating this straight out of the mixing bowl – dessert for one style, there are lots of options for using this recipe.
Dessert Topping: This homemade keto whipped cream is fabulous on Keto Ice Cream, Chocolate Pie, Mug Cakes and Mousse
Or On Drinks: Keto Coffee, Starbucks drinks, cocktails and Hot Chocolate
Top Your Pancakes: Whether you’re enjoying breakfast for dessert or want to switch up your morning routine this whipped cream pairs nicely with cream cheese pancakes.

Ingredients
1 Cup Cold Heavy Cream

Use a hand mixer or stand mixer with a whisk attachment to blend heavy cream, erythritol, and vanilla on low speed. (About 2 minutes)
Increase speed to medium-high – add in the optional dissolved gelatin – and beat on high for a few more minutes – until stiff peaks form (also known as that thing when you take the mixer out of the bowl, and the whipped cream holds its shape)
Or put all ingredients in a food processor for 5 minutes and make life easier on yourself!
