I’ve started and stopped writing this article about Thrive at least fifty times in the last hour. I don’t want to come off like a hardcore salesperson who’s out of touch with reality because the truth is, life at my house is very, very real these days. Also, I’m a little distracted because I’m attempting to work from home in complete chaos.
All three of my kids are under one roof for the first time in over a year. My husband is working from home (and has no idea how the “google machine” works – no, really, that’s what he calls it, and I’m trying to hold my crazy together as best as I can – even though we are dangerously close to running out of toilet paper.
So, yeah, our life is like a very loosely scripted reality show without the bomb lighting or the paycheck. But you know what? We’re making the best of it. And so is Thrive Market.
Now, I came dangerously close to screaming the benefits of Thrive from the rooftops after a series of unfortunate events at our local Walmart inspired me to post this on Facebook a few months back.

I should have followed through because avoiding the general public and uncomfortable parenting situations is enough to make a Thrive membership #worthit. But, I held back – mostly because I was so mad.
Well, we’re living in a different world.
One without Lisa Bonet, and with the added stresses of teaching our kids from home, spending hours trying to navigate a Zoom meeting, non-stop cooking, and avoiding public places like the plague. And that’s where Thrive comes in.
But before I get carried away with the features and benefits of a Thrive membership, I want to share a few fast facts about how the folks at Thrive are addressing COVID-19.
How Thrive Market Is Handling COVID-19
Commitment: Thrive Market is working 24/7 to ensure members get the essentials they need as quickly as possible without price surging.
Inventory: They are dedicated to keeping members updated with the latest information about shipping times, inventory levels, and safety measure updates here.
Relief Fund: The Thrive Market COVID-19 Relief Fund will provide grocery stipends to families facing health or financial hardships due to COVID-19. Thrive Market members have already raised more than $100k by donating at checkout, and Thrive Market is matching those donations dollar for dollar. You can click here to learn more.
Safety: While the COVID-19 crisis is evolving every day, their commitments remain the same: to provide you and our members with the highest-quality natural products safely, while also protecting the well-being of our employees and partners. A few of our enhanced safety measures are the following:
- Providing sanitary gloves and hand sanitizer to every employee to use throughout their shift
- Supplying masks for all roles requiring less than 6 feet of social distancing
- Utilizing hospital-grade thermometers for employees to check their temperatures each time they enter the building
And yes, I know a lot of folks don’t give a rip about a company’s commitment to safety, giving back or in some cases, customer loyalty, but I certainly do.
So, let’s take a look at why I’m talking about Thrive Market so much lately and how they can make your life easier. Ok?
What Is Thrive Market?
Thrive Market /THRI-ve MAR ket/
Healthy living made easy
1: curated online grocery store offering high quality organic, non-GMO products at 25-50% off retail prices
2: the easiest way to shop for the best food, cleaning supplies, beauty products, and pet supplies without leaving the house.
Thrive Market is a membership-based online retailer (kind of like a Costco meets Amazon-style situation) that keeps you a healthy distance from the supermarket and saves you money while you’re at it.
Now before I lose you at membership, you need to know that Thrive guarantees you will save the cost of your $59.95 fee during the first year, and if you don’t, they’ll refund you the difference in credit at renewal. In other words, you’re not wasting money here.
Shopping at Thrive Market is like getting The Whole Foods experience with the convenience of Amazon plus 25 – 50% off retail prices.
No one comes close to providing a line up of must-haves like Thrive – from grass-fed beef and sustainable seafood to snacks, multivitamins, shampoo, pet food, and laundry detergent.
Customized + Curated Shopping
One of the things you’ll love about Thrive is how you can customize your shopping experience based on diet, meat and seafood, wine, vitamins and supplements, beauty, bath and body, favorite brands, home, and pet supplies.
The first impressive Thrive Market membership feature is how they make it super simple to shop according to diet: All you have to do is navigate to their website, and look for Shop By Diet in the left-hand corner.
You’ll see a page with over 70 values, including diets, certifications and awards, health and ingredients, environmental and social. I love the shop by diet feature – because I do not enjoy reading labels at the store or online:)
Thrive Market Membership Brand Must-Haves (Buying Generic Without Feeling Generic)
Ok, so you know that feeling you have when presented with the ultimate Sophie’s Choice of whether to buy brand name verses generic? Ok, I’ll admit now that I’ve been mom-ing for over 19 years I have gotten over most of my brand name anxiety, but when I’m shopping for gluten-free items for my son who has autism – I do want to make sure I’m not substituting savings for quality.
And you know what? Thrive takes care of that.
In other words, you can depend on the Thrive Market brand products to be the highest quality ingredients at affordable price points. Here’s a few examples of this in action. (Please keep in mind, some prices may have been changed since this article’s publish date.)
Grass-Fed Collagen Peptides (Keto, Paleo, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free)
Price Comparison: 24.99 – 20 oz Thrive vs. 34.95 – 16 oz Amazon
Thrive’s collagen peptides promote healthier hair, skin, and nails. It’s a fine-ground powder with virtually no taste or texture, and it dissolves into liquids fast. Stir it in everything from morning brew to afternoon smoothies to help you feel and look fabulous:)
Lily’s Dark Chocolate Chips (Keto, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan)
Lily’s Sweets Dark Chocolate Baking Chips – If you’re not familiar with Lily’s – you should be! These healthy-for-you baking chips are made with certified dark chocolate – sweetened with stevia and they’re keto-friendly, gluten-free, and dairy-free. I buy these every time I place an order. (I use these in my Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Fat Bombs:)
Primal Kitchen Organic Unsweetened Ketchup (Keto, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Organic, Paleo)
Primal Kitchen’s Paleo- and Keto-friendly recipe is always unsweetened and packed with wholesome ingredients – no label reading (or translating) required.
Thrive Market Organic Virgin Coconut Oil (Keto, Gluten-Free, Organic, Paleo)
Thrive Market’s Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is certified organic, fair trade, and non-GMO. It’s a multitasking must-have in the kitchen, whether you’re sautéing, frying, or baking. Pro tip: You can use it for your skin and hair – and shave your legs with it. Boom.
Simply Organic Vanilla Extract (Keto Gluten-Free Vegetarian Organic)
Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (Keto, Gluten-Free, Organic, Vegetarian)
Apple Cider Vinegar is a household staple that you can use in the kitchen in recipes, on your skin (or your teenager’s skin) to clear breakouts or as a cleaning product.

No Health Foods Store? No Problem
I know many of you do not live even remotely close to a health food store. Finding the “right” ingredients often feels like a scavenger hunt from hell, even if all of the other customers are well behaved.
For me, the nearest Whole Foods is two hours away – and like most working moms, I rarely find myself with a spare four travel hours in my day, and if I did, I wouldn’t want to spend them en route to the grocery store – no matter what podcast I was listening to:)
That’s why I appreciate Thrive’s selection of brands like Annie’s, Burt’s Bees, KIND, and Primal Kitchen – as well as their line up of grass-fed, free-range and antibiotic-free beef, certified free-range and organic chicken, and sustainable seafood. I can get all of my shopping done in one place. #score
Thrive Market Membership Starter Kits
You know that feeling when you’ve committed to a new diet or lifestyle, and you want to buy everything? Thrive has a kit for that. No joke – they offer starter kits for just about all of the things: ketogenic diet, gluten-free, Paleo, vegan – even natural cleaning.
Which means no more second-guessing ingredients or sneaky labels because they’ve done the work for you.
Whether you are paleo, gluten-free, vegan, kosher, ketogenic —you can shop for 90+ values, also including non-GMO, sustainably farmed, fair-trade certified, BPA-free, and more in just one click of a button.
In you jammies. Without having to comb your hair.
But Thrive Market isn’t just about buying the latest on-trend snack or grass-fed beef.
Thrive is a one-stop-shop for everything.
We’re talking food, snacks, vitamins, supplements, personal care products, eco-friendly cleaning supplies, safe and nontoxic beauty products, kitchen staples, home goods, organic baby food, kids products, and much, much more – all without having to leave the convenience of your home.
Amazon Or Thrive?
While Amazon may be the king of online retailers, in my experience, Thrive Market has lower prices – even if you’re not balancing a special diet.
Yes, Amazon may offer more options, but Thrive takes the win for quality.
Keep in mind, Thrive Market provides a curated catalog of products – so while you may only find 3 – 4 choices per product, you can bank on the fact that these include the highest quality ingredients at the best value for your family. Plus, 70% of Thrives products are not available on Amazon.
Do You Really Save Money with Thrive Market?
Thrive guarantees their annual membership will pay for itself. For example, if your membership fee was $60, and you only saved $40 in the year, they will add a $20 Thrive Cash to your account after you renew.
In other words, they guarantee you will not lose money.
I did the math, which I typically avoid, and – I ended up making up the cost of my membership within my first two orders.
Here’s a look at a few price breakdowns just in case you’re curious.

For every paid membership, Thrive donates a free membership to a family in need with custom education content like shopping lists, recipes, and a video course on how to eat healthy on a budget.
Veterans, students, teachers, and first responders are also eligible for free memberships through their Thrive Gives program.
Other Thrive Market Facts
Thrive Market is the first company in the country to go to zero waste. All packaging, boxes, and inserts are made from recycled paper and are recyclable. What this means is that by shopping with them, you’re doing good things for the world. Which I think we can all agree is important, right?
Thrive Market is the largest retailer in the country that sells exclusively non-GMO groceries at up to 50% Off – which means they help you live a healthy lifestyle without the hefty price tag.

I love that you can choose your membership term. I went with the 12 month membership because it comes down to $5 per month. But if you’re not sure if Thrive Market is the right fit for you, you can easily give it a try for a shorter period of time.
Just remember—Thrive Market membership is risk-free! You can take the first 30 days to determine if Thrive Market is right for you; if it’s not, just cancel within 30 days and get a full refund.
